FEIT’s interpretation of a classic open-back mule is built on a slim sole and elevated with luxury materials and a high level of craft. This winterized version is lined in shearling wool for the colder months. Made from vegetable-tanned leather, they feature our signature one-piece upper, hand sewn Goodyear construction, and leather wrap.
FEIT footwear is mainly built using vegetable-tanned leather. Vegetable-tanned leather breathes as in nature. It is non-irritant, soft to touch, ages richly over time, and biodegrades. The leather remains neutral regardless of the temperature, and does not retain sweat or odor, allowing FEIT shoes to be worn barefoot and get better with age.
All FEIT shoes are made from start to finish by one master craftsman. The one-piece upper is sewn by hand directly to the midsole. A cork footbed and a bamboo shank stabilizer is added, then the leather outsole is cemented to the midsole using a natural, water-based glue. We refer to this process as a modified hand-sewn Goodyear construction.
Goodyear construction ensures all FEIT shoes can be resoled.
The Handsewn Mules run slightly small. We recommend sizing up if you are in between sizes.
