The FEIT Goodyear Lace-Up Boot is handmade in Montegranaro, Italy, from black veg tanned leather using traditional handsewn Goodyear-welted construction. Inspired by classic military and work boots, the extended lacing system creates a secure, adjustable fit, while a rear pull tab allows for easier entry. FEIT’s rounded brutalist toe and stripped-back upper bring a raw, minimal character to the traditional silhouette. A stacked leather sole and heel are hand-stained to match the upper, with thin Vibram rubber sheeting at the forefoot and heel for traction and protection. Designed for longevity, the boot can be repaired and resoled over time, developing greater depth and individual character with wear.

Process & Materials

Each pair in the Goodyear collection is handmade using traditional Goodyear construction, a process that joins the upper, insole and welt before attaching the outsole. This creates a structured yet adaptable foundation designed to be repaired and resoled rather than replaced.

The boots are made from black veg tanned leather selected for its depth, natural variation and ability to develop character through wear. Rather than forcing the leather into a rigid, uniform shape, the patterns allow the material to fold and move naturally.

Each pair passes through the hands of a single master shoemaker from start to finish, preserving the knowledge, touch and individual judgment that automated production removes. No two pairs are the same.

Components & Details

The Lace-Up Boot is constructed from a thick black leather upper with an extended lacing system for a secure, adjustable fit. Minimal paneling and reduced seams preserve the clean one piece upper profile of the boot, while a rear leather pull tab allows for easier entry. A structured heel holds the foot securely in place, and FEIT’s rounded brutalist toe gives the traditional lace-up silhouette its distinctive weight and form. Natural variations in the leather and subtle irregularities reveal the hand of the maker and develop further character with wear.

Traditional handsewn Goodyear-welted construction provides lasting comfort and structure while allowing the boot to be repaired and resoled over time. The Goodyear collection is made in Montegranaro, a small town in Italy’s Marche region with generations of expertise in handmade men’s shoes and boots.

Unlike modern large-scale factories, production in this region remains rooted in a network of small, family-run ateliers. Knowledge is passed between generations, with individual makers specializing in the cutting, shaping, welting and finishing techniques required for traditional footwear.

By working within this community, FEIT draws on centuries of Italian shoemaking knowledge while moving the familiar forms of men’s footwear into a more minimal and contemporary landscape.
