Cobbler's Process
- Remove old sole.
- Hand prep upper, sand off any old glue.
- Fill in any missing cork, repair any damage on inside, touch up leather.
- Make pattern in shape of original sole.
- Cut rubber and leather soles, glue together to make new sole.
- Cut and skive additional piece of leather to make a new wedge.
- Prepare new sole by sanding.
- Apply primer to new sole.
- Apply glue to upper and new sole, glue together.
- Place shoe on press.
- Trim any excess rubber material, clean upper, polish as needed, final touch-ups.
