These backless shoes popularized by the Dutch, and today known as clogs, quickly spread throughout Europe as a utilitarian work shoe. Originally designed for protection in harsh elements, FEIT’s clog is as versatile as its ancestors. Designed with international climate in mind, the Shearling Clog features a solid Vibram® sole and custom metal hardware made to manipulate for maximum function. A hand-plaited embroidery is incorporated to celebrate our makers.
Countless cultures have developed their own version of the clog. FEIT’s clog features a shearling footbed and inside upper for total warmth in any weather.
Built entirely by hand, the hand sewn Goodyear construction produces the most durable and flexible product available: lightweight, functional and resoleable.
FEIT footwear is mainly built using vegetable-tanned leather. Vegetable-tanned leather breathes as in nature. It is non-irritant, soft to touch, ages richly over time, and biodegrades. The leather remains neutral regardless of the temperature, and does not retain sweat or odor, allowing FEIT shoes to be worn barefoot and get better with age.
All FEIT shoes are made from start to finish by one master craftsman. The one-piece upper is sewn by hand directly to the midsole. A cork footbed and a bamboo shank stabilizer is added, then the leather outsole is cemented to the midsole using a natural, water-based glue. We refer to this process as a modified hand-sewn Goodyear construction.
Goodyear construction ensures all FEIT shoes can be resoled.
Each pair of FEIT shoes comes with an extra set cork and buffalo leather insoles to assist with in-between sizing. The additional leather insole can be used alone, or the cork can be inserted underneath the leather for extra padding. If you are between sizes, you can either size up and use the included insoles, or size down and use no additional insoles.
