Echoing elements of the classic lace-up and combat boots, FEIT repurposes the style by fusing the traditional closed-lacing system with a knotted stitch at the heel to form an ornamental tassel in celebration of our makers’ skills.
A taller version of our classic Oxford, this boot features a flexible one-piece vegetable-tanned leather upper that hugs the foot due to it’s narrow shaft. A leather collar sits inside the upper offering increased comfort and durability.
Plaited hand-stitching along the welt unifies the upper with the classic stacked sole using a hand sewn Goodyear construction. This highly complex plaited detail features 3 separate threads breaded together. Hand stitching is again utilised to unify the upper and attach the tassel.
FEIT footwear is mainly built using vegetable-tanned leather. Vegetable-tanned leather breathes as in nature. It is non-irritant, soft to touch, ages richly over time, and biodegrades. The leather remains neutral regardless of the temperature, and does not retain sweat or odor, allowing FEIT shoes to be worn barefoot and get better with age.
All FEIT shoes are made from start to finish by one master craftsman. The one-piece upper is sewn by hand directly to the midsole. A cork footbed and a bamboo shank stabilizer is added, then the leather outsole is cemented to the midsole using a natural, water-based glue. We refer to this process as a modified hand-sewn Goodyear construction.
Goodyear construction ensures all FEIT shoes can be resoled.
Each pair of FEIT shoes comes with an extra set cork and buffalo leather insoles to assist with in-between sizing. The additional leather insole can be used alone, or the cork can be inserted underneath the leather for extra padding. If you are between sizes, you can either size up and use the included insoles, or size down and use no additional insoles.
