The Ceremonial Ballet is an update to FEIT’s Hand Sewn Ballet, taking it even closer to a traditional ballet slipper, with no leather wrap and a thinner leather sole. A visible handsewn side stitch connects the leather one-piece upper to the midsole. The threads are plaited up the back of the heel and knotted to form a decorative tassel. As with all FEIT shoes, each pair is made by a single maker who signs a certificate of authenticity, tying our process to the ballet tradition.
All FEIT shoes are made from start to finish by one master craftsman. The one-piece upper is sewn by hand directly to the midsole. A cork footbed and a bamboo shank stabilizer is added, then the leather outsole is cemented to the midsole using a natural, water-based glue. We refer to this process as a modified hand-sewn Goodyear construction.
Goodyear construction ensures all FEIT shoes can be resoled.
Each pair of FEIT shoes comes with an extra set cork and buffalo leather insoles to assist with in-between sizing. The additional leather insole can be used alone, or the cork can be inserted underneath the leather for extra padding. If you are between sizes, you can either size up and use the included insoles, or size down and use no additional insoles. All FEIT shoes include an additional buffalo leather insert that may cause slippage if worn with a sock. Flip the insert if friction is scarce.
