Do your shoes carry a warranty?
We stand behind everything we make and guarantee our products will perform as intended.
Each pair of shoes we sell is handmade by a master craftsman and are made to be repaired. Each pair of shoes will wear differently from person to person and vary from style to style. Factors such as terrain, weight, and intended use will have an effect on how quickly the product wears. Sole replacement, wear to wool interior, scratches, scuffs, water damage, and insole replacement are considered normal wear and tear and are not considered defective.
FEIT guarantees all Vibram soled shoes including the Unlined Hiker, Wool Hiker, Whipstitch Wool Hiker, Bamboo Hiker, and Bamboo Military Hiker against any manufacturer defect for the life of the product. If a defect occurs as a result of normal use, FEIT will repair the issue free of charge.
FEIT guarantees all shoes from our “Hand Sewn Collection” including the Hand Sewn High, Hand Sewn Low, and Hand Sewn Slipper against any manufacturer defect for one year following the original purchase date. FEIT reserves the right to determine if the damage is due to construction or normal wear. If a defect occurs as a result of normal use within one calendar year from the purchase date, FEIT will repair the issue free of charge. This does not include normal wear and tear on the sole.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes. We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal. We do not accept Apple Pay.

How do you cancel or change an order?
Once an order is placed, we do our best to fulfill and ship as soon as possible. If your order was placed overnight or within the past 24 hours, there is a chance it can still be altered. Please email email@example.com or call 1-212-675-4737 immediately with any questions or concerns.
Will I be charged tax on my order?
Taxes are charged for New York and New Jersey residents only.
Do you have sales?
Our items are hand made and produced in very limited quantities, therefore, sales are not common. Please sign up for our newsletter at the bottom right hand corner of our homepage to be notified of any promotions we may have. All discounted items are final sale.
What size should I wear? Should I size up or down?
FEIT shoes generally fit true to size. If you are in between sizes we suggest sizing up. All FEIT shoes come with two removable insoles - one natural cork, and one buffalo leather. The cork insole can be placed under the buffalo leather insole if shoes feel a bit large. You can remove the soles at your leisure for a size that is best fit. You can click the “size chart” button on product pages for exact insole measurements. Please note leather will soften with wear.
Do you offer wide sizing?
Not currently. Some of our styles are made off a wider last. If you are interested in a wider fitting shoe we suggest our Boot styles.
How are your shoes made?
FEIT products are hand made by the world’s finest contemporary craftsmen using biological materials from the highest quality suppliers. No harmful chemicals are used in the FEIT production process and all footwear is hand lasted, hand sewn, and produced in limited volumes to ensure minimal environmental impact and maximum quality. FEIT uses an advanced hand sewn goodyear construction whereby the upper of the shoe is stretched over a last and sewn to a leather strip known as a welt. The sole is sewn (not glued) to the welt/upper to unify the shoe. Each shoe is left on the last for up to ten days, where light stream is let into the room to help tighten and form the leather. Most FEIT shoes are constructed from one piece of leather. The resulting absence of seams ensures comfort and allows the shoe to naturally shape to the foot.
What is vegetable leather? What is vegetable tanned leather?
Vegetable tanned leather is tanned using tannins and other ingredients found in vegetable matter such as tree bark, wood, leaves, fruit, and roots. FEIT leather breathes as it would in nature. It is non-irritant, soft to the touch, ages richly over time and is biodegradable. The leather remains neutral during hot and cold days. It will never smell.
Where do you source your leather?
All leathers are sourced from the highest quality English and Italian tanneries.
Where are your products made?
FEIT products are designed in New York and made all over the world—primarily in the United States, Italy, China and Australia. The origin depends on the product itself, the method of construction, and the location of the best craftspeople fit for the task.
FEIT founder Tull Price has been making footwear apparel and accessories for over 20 years. His footwear is produced globally in collaboration with factories in Italy, Portugal, Spain, England, Romania, Asia and the U.S. He is constantly searching for the best makers and the best results.
At the core of Feit footwear is an original set of lasts developed in Civitanova Marche, Italy with the help of Tull’s favorite last maker: Veddicio Padrone. Soles are developed in partnership with Vibram Italy or France-based Lactae Hevea. Leathers are sourced from tanneries specializing in vegetable dyeing in the Tuscan region of Italy, and suedes are sourced from England’s most prestigious dress shoe suppliers. All shoes are handsewn in southern China, where Tull has assembled and trained a small team of makers known for their strength and dexterity in the declining art of handmade shoes.
Our accessories are hand made in Italy using Italian vegetable leathers.
Our hats are made by a Japanese master milliner who studied haute mode hat making in Paris under the legendary Jean Barthet in the 1960s. They have been created by a hand knitted machine in a small atelier that focuses only on the production of knitted hats.
How do I care for leather?
Vegetable tanned leather shoes should be left untreated. The leather will develop a patina and age beautifully over time. Clean with a horsehair brush or soft rag. If desired, use a natural oil based treatment or conditioner.
How do I care for suede?
Vegetable Suede and lighter leather can be protected with natural protectant or waterproofing agent. Soft wire brush and eraser recommended for light stains and revitalizing suede. Only use suede cleaner for heavy stains.
What is your returns policy?
Undamaged goods can be returned within 30 days of delivery to redeem a full refund or replacement. The customer assumes both the return shipping cost to our warehouse in the U.S. and the replacement item's shipping cost. If goods are received to the customer defective or incorrect, FEIT will pay any shipping costs incurred. Refunds or credit will be processed within a week of receiving returned items. Please allow 2-3 days for the refund to show on your account balance.
Do you handle returns internationally?
We don’t provide international returns at this point.
Can I track my international order?
What are importation fees?
Importation fees include all landed costs (duty and taxes, brokerage charge) that are associated with shipping our products to your international location.
Are there any additional costs that will be due upon receipt of my order?
No, what you paid in checkout will be guaranteed including all transportation costs and any importation fees, such as applicable duty and tax enforced by the customs and revenue authorities in the destination country.
Can I return an online order to your retail stores?
Products purchased online can be returned to our NY or Sydney stores for replacement. Refunds on online orders will not be processed in store.
How can I make an exchange?
Online orders can be exchanged in our NY or Sydney stores. If you are not located near one of our retail locations, please send the item back for a refund and place a new order online. Since all of our items are made in limited numbers, we cannot guarantee the availability of any of our products.
How do I send an item back for a refund?
In order to send an item back for a refund, we need to issue you a Return Authorization (RA) number before shipping. All items being sent back for refund MUST be accompanied by a Return Authorization number. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be issued a RA number and be provided with the address of where to ship your return. Please write the RA number on the outside of the box if possible and include a copy of the RA form with the shipment. When your return has been received and processed by the Return Center, your refund will be returned to the original form of payment. Refund times may vary, but generally returns are fully processed within 3-5 business days from receipt by the return center. Please allow up to 1 billing cycle for your refund to post back to your account.
What if a product I’ve ordered is subsequently sold at a lower price?
FEIT can price match any product sales made from feitdirect.com within five days of purchase. If an item has been reduced we will provide partial credit, if requested, for matching item sold up to five days prior to price reduction.
When will my credit card be credited following a refund?
Once a refund is processed you will receive an email confirmation. Credit will be seen on your card in 48 - 72 hours time.
Where do your items ship from?
All online orders ship from United States.
How are international shipping rates calculated?
All FEIT products are delivered duty paid. This means all duties and taxes are paid prior to shipping, and no further payments are required to release the goods.
