With durability and stability in mind we considered the functionality of traditional trail boots and updated the design to increase strength and longevity. The Trail Runner Low is an all-terrain runner that wears like a boot—a marriage between a trail running shoe and a hiking boot.
In stark contrast to the trail-type sneakers found on the market today, this is an all-natural shoe that utilizes only biological materials. No synthetics are used in the entire production process.
Natural leather heel reinforcements normally reserved for the outsoles of men's dress shoes are used instead of the usual plastic. Plastic is replaced again in the superior leather midsole. Other features include a natural latex padded ankle collar and tongue, and an 8-stitch hand sewn leather pull tab.
All FEIT shoes are made from start to finish by one master craftsman. The one-piece upper is sewn by hand directly to the midsole. A cork footbed and a bamboo shank stabilizer is added, then the leather outsole is cemented to the midsole using a natural, water-based glue. We refer to this process as a modified hand-sewn Goodyear construction.
Goodyear construction ensures all FEIT shoes can be resoled.
Each pair of FEIT shoes comes with an extra set cork and buffalo leather insoles to assist with in-between sizing. The additional leather insole can be used alone, or the cork can be inserted underneath the leather for extra padding. If you are between sizes, you can either size up and use the included insoles, or size down and use no additional insoles.
