FEIT’s new Raw White uses the underside of our traditional semi cordovan leather, leaving a superior finish on the inside that is extremely soft and comfortable. The hand-painted upper will crack naturally with wear creating a visual story of the shoes’ hard work.
The Ceremonial Wedge Mule connects the upper to a fully stacked leather wedge sole using a modified San Crispino construction which allows the midsole to be stitched directly onto this one-piece leather upper.
*Due to the hand-painted nature of the leather each pair is unique and may not look exactly as the pair photographed.
Raw White is a custom development from semi-cordovan, made specially for Feit
Historically, cordovan leather, made from the buttocks part of a horse skin, has been used mainly for luxury dress shoes. For FEIT shoes we use the entire skin - hence the name "semi-cordovan." The leather is tanned slowly, nourished with natural oils, and shaved. A century ago, when horses were still a driving force behind transportation, hides were plentiful. Now they are extremely scarce and difficult to come by.
The use of this highly luxurious and elevated skin allows the foot to breathe and, because it is much softer, does not require breaking in.
As opposed to modified hand sewn Goodyear construction by which all FEIT shoes are built. The upper of the Ceremonial Wedge Mule utilizes a modified San Crispino construction where the upper is hand sewn to the side of the footbed before the leather outsole is cemented using a natural water based glue.
FEIT backless styles run slightly small. We recommend sizing up if you are in between sizes.
